Indonesian Charter Airline Receives Cessna Grand Caravan Simulator

WATS 2012, April 18th 2012 – Mechtronix Systems today announced the delivery of the Cessna Grand Caravan FFT X™ at Susi Air’s premises in Pangandaran, Indonesia. This second delivery to the Indonesian Airline, following the Mechtronix Ascent® Flight Trainer™, represents not only the first FFT X™ to be delivered in Indonesia but also the first training device to replicate the Cessna Grand Caravan in the Asia-Pacific region. Since the Pangandaran training center is open both to Susi Air’s trainees but also to other pilot students, they will now be able to address the Caravan training requirements for the entire region.

The FFT X™ is part of the Mechtronix train@home concept; airlines willing to train at home that do not have the financial resources to invest in a FFS can take advantage of this business model as it enables them to train in a high fidelity environment at reasonable costs. The concept fitted perfectly with Susi Air’s training requirements, allowing the students to train in environments with multiple operational constraints at a much lower cost than flying the two aircraft previously allocated to pilot training.

The Full Flight Trainer FFT X™ replicates the Cessna Grand Caravan 208 flight deck and shows FFS-like quality and fidelity, featuring a new generation seat-based motion cueing system, high-end sound simulation system and an FFS Instructor Operating Station tower. The highly-flexible device is equipped with a 3 channel 200x40° collimated cross cockpit viewing display system providing astounding visual fidelity. The FFT X™ provides the ideal training environment for this class of aircraft in terms of technology and affordability. Furthermore, it represents a smart alternative to the high investment required for full motion simulators.
