MECHTRONIX TO DEPLOY A320 FFT X™ IN AUSTRALIA
Flight Training Adelaide selects Mechtronix A320 FFT X™
WATS 2012, Orlando, April 17th 2012 – Mechtronix is pleased to have been chosen by Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) for the provision of an Airbus 320 FFT X™, the first device of this type to be delivered in Australia. The delivery of the simulator at FTA’s training facilities in Parafield Airport (South Australia) is expected for the fourth quarter of 2012. The acquisition of the FFT X™ will enable FTA to broaden their offer by including MPL training to their curriculum, thereby contributing to meet the current pilot provisioning needs that can be best fulfilled by utilising such an advanced training device.
The Mechtronix FFT X™-MPL is currently the only device to meet the regulatory requirements for the third phase of Multi-crew Pilot License (MPL) training other than traditional Full Flight Simulators (FFS). It comprises 100% aircraft systems simulation and features unique motion seat cueing and a collimated visual system which provide both the motion and visual cues required for the intermediate phase of MPL. The device also addresses phase 2 of MPL, MCC / CRM, jet orientation / bridge and recurrent training that are a key feature of FTA’s business.
FTA’s CEO Pine Pienaar comments: “During the decision process, we were very positively influenced by the quality and performance of the FFT X™ located at Flight Training Europe’s facilities in Spain. It is fundamental for us to train our cadet pilots on the most advanced and reliable equipment. Furthermore, Mechtronix’ customer support presence in the Asia-Pacific region as well as a developing presence in Australia further ensures the highest standards or support.”
“We are pleased to have been selected by FTA and to support them in continuing a long and successful tradition in airline pilot training.” says Mark Dransfield, Vice president Validation and Qualification “Thanks to our involvement in industry initiatives and committees such as RAeS International Working Group for ICAO 9625, we guarantee customers such as FTA the most in-depth knowledge of MPL training and FSTD accreditation by the authorities.”
The FFT X™ A320 is the third to be sold worldwide, the two first devices are already in use at the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) and in production for ST AEROSPACE ACADEMY (Singapore). Mechtronix also provides MPL training solutions to various successful training organisations and airlines: CAPA Denmark, Flight Training Europe (FTE), CAFUC, Alpha Aviation, Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA), to name but a few.
