Fernando Petruzziello

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Fernando Petruzziello is responsible for Mechtronix' strategic planning. In addition, he is responsible for overall guidance of all electrical and computer engineering activities. Prior to founding the company, he was the electrical design engineer at Concordia University’s Fluid Power Control and Research Laboratory, which was the first to produce a flight simulator using microprocessor technology. In 2006, Mr. Petruzziello won the Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year Award”. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University (Montreal).

 

Joaquim Frazao

Vice President Customer Support & Co-Founder

Joaquim Frazao supervises every project developed by the mechanical engineering group, coordinating resources to ensure a good quality work with respect to specifications and schedule. Furthermore, he manages after-sales support for Mechtronix' extensive international client base. Prior to founding Mechtronix, Joaquim was Supervisor of the Machine Tool and Surface Mechanics Laboratory at Concordia University and lectured on machine design, kinematics of mechanisms and dynamics of machines. Joaquim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Applied Sciences from Concordia University (Montreal).

Thom Allen

Vice President Engineering & Co-Founder

Thom Allen is responsible for the overall direction of the technology used by Mechtronix within its simulation and custom engineering products. Prior to joining Mechtronix in 1989, Thom participated in a number of significant research and development projects where his contribution included the development of simulation software for aircraft avionics systems. Thom holds a Bachelor’s Degree (with Distinction) in Computer Engineering from the University of Concordia (Montreal).

Marco Petruzziello

Director of Production & Co-Founder

Marco is responsible for managing and supervising production in both the machine shop as well as in the mechanical and electrical assembly department. His duties include the development of manufacturing processes for individual jobs, coordinating of all the mechanical manufacturing and assembly, allocating human resources, equipment and material to achieve continuous and efficient production, evaluating and training of all personnel under his supervision. Marco holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and an Eco-toxicology Diploma from the University of Concordia (Montreal).

Mark Dransfield

Vice President, Validation & Qualification

Mark Dransfield joined Mechtronix in 2009. Based in the UK, Mark works in close cooperation with the management team, where he lends his expertise to marketing and promotion of products and services with a particular focus on the tier 1 airlines. Prior to joining Mechtronix, Mark worked at Thales Training & Simulation as Director of Programmes and more recently as Director Strategy & Marketing for the civil simulation business. In addition, Mark is a registered Chartered Engineer and the Chairman of the Royal Aeronautical Society Flight Simulation Group Committee.
